Well, I guess it is time for an update, since it has been over a month since I have blogged. I have been so hung up on Facebook and farming, that I don't have time for blogging.
June was a busy month for us. I had several procedures done on my back to see if they could stop my back pain, but nothing has helped yet. I think I am going to have to learn to live with it.
The third week in June, Bobby and I went to Gulf Shores to a condo for four nights and days and it was really a nice relaxing time for both of us. It was a little HOT during the day, but perfect for walking in the evening and morning. We left Gulf Shores and went over to Biloxi/Gulfport area and spent a few days before coming home. We had a nice little getaway.
Not much going on here for July 4th, the kids are getting together with one of Kirk's neighbors and doing a cookout and fireworks, and us old folks are staying home and enjoying the peace and quite. Bobby is working days this weekend, so he really doesn't want to be up late to see fireworks, so that is fine with me. I hope everyone has a nice 4th of July.
That's it until next time........Back to Facebook.......

Happy Memorial Day weekend to everyone..Not much going on here. Bobby is still working a lot of overtime and I am taking of the house, yard and cats. Bobby will be off for a few days after tonight's night shift. We are going to take a little trip over into Mississippi for a few days while he is off. We will be back on Thursday. I am looking forward to being away for a few days.
It is raining again here today. That system that was down in Florida is sitting over us today. It had just began to dry out a little and now is just as wet as it was, Oh WELL, It will dry out some day.
I have joined the FACEBOOK crowd and now am farming on facebook. If anyone is ever on facebook check out my farm. Kristi and I are in competetion again each other to see who can farm the most. I wasn't interested in farming and she wasn't either, but we have gotten hooked. I think Kristi will stay ahead of me. I am an old slow farmer. This farming thing is very addictive....
Well, that is it from here right now. Take care.

BEACH TRIP
Well, the last week has been a busy one for me. Last Thursday, April 27th Kristi, the kids and I left for Fort Walton Beach, Fl. We stopped in Vicksburg for the night and the kids got to swim and I got to go to the Casino for a little bit. On Friday morning we got up, has breakfast at McD's and went on down the road for the beach with the age old question coming from the kids, "Are we there yet? or How much further is it?" We arrived about 5pm after getting hung up in traffic in Mobile. We enjoyed our stay on the beach and the condo was so, so. We had always gone to Fort Morgan and I think I like it better, but we tried something different..We all got a little blistered on Saturday, but have all survived . We came home on Monday and then Bobby and I left again on Tuesday afternoon and went over to Tunica for a couple of nights. On the way to Tunica, I said, do you realize I have only slept in my bed one night in the past week, but I enjoyed it all. Now we are all back home and getting life back to normal. We have mowed Aunt Emma's yard this morning and I cooked us a home cooked meal which really tasted good after eating out a lot in the last week. Well, I think that is a shortened version of my week, but it was nice.

April, 2009
Well, here we are with April nearly over and I haven't blogged in over a month. I am really behind. I am now on Facebook so anyone reading this can keep up with me on Facebook. I have planted a few more plants in our flower bed out in front of the house and have gotten some pots with tomatoes and peppers planted in them. Hopefully we will have some tomatoes. I miss my little garden, but Bobby says lets wait until next year for a garden. We are going to put up the rest of a fence on both sides as soon as our neighbor finishes hers. One neighbor put up his fence and it is complete, and now the other neighbor is getting hers put up so we will have a lot less to put up than we originally thought. We only have about 20 foot of fence and two gates to install, which will be a lot cheaper on us. Pat, our son-in-law, built us a cover over our patio and that is really nice. We have had so much cool weather and rain that we haven't got to sit out there much, but warmer days are here now and will probably stay so we will be getting out more.
On Thursday afternoon, Kristi and the kids and I are heading for Ft. Walton Beach, FL. We are only going to be gone until Monday, but at least we will be on the BEACH.....Bobby was supposed to be going, but one of the guards retired and he is working a lot of overtime, at least he is still working, and he has to stay home, so I invited Kristi and kids to go with me. Once they get someone hired to take that guys' place, then Bobby and I can resume our travels. We haven't done much the last couple of months because he is working all the time.
The grandkids and great granddaughter are all doing fine. Panda, great-granddaughter, is really growing and so sweet. She was here on Easter and just smiling and so happy.

Update for the winter
There hasn't been a whole lot going on here this winter. Bobby was sick after I was with the cold crud for about a month, just like mine. Now I am snifling again and don't like it a bit. I have been using Zicam and it really works. I was hesitant about buying it, but it does work. Pass the word on....
I am still working on lap quilts when I have a minute, when Bobby is working. When I finished the current lap quilt I am going to make a large quilt(hopefully) for the sleeping room bed. I enjoy working on the quilts, it is very relaxing.
We bought a new car a couple of weeks ago and are really enjoying it. We got a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, which is really nice. We traded in our 2006 Honda. The Malibu rides so quite and has all kinds of gismos on it.
We had a little snow last Saturday night, but not enough to really enjoy. I would like to have one big snow before the season is over, if possible, but if not, I will wait until next year. I love SNOW. It seems like it has been a long cold winter for Arkansas and I am really ready for spring. It is going to be warmer the next few days and I am sure I will enjoy having the windows open and enjoying some fresh air. We put a few pompas grass plants out in the yard today and have much more yard work to do on this new yard. We were waiting for spring to plant trees and flowers, so the time is fast approaching.
Kristi's oldest child, my 3rd grandchild, will be a teenager tomorrow. He is not supposed to be 13. I sometimes forget he is that old and still treat him like a little boy, but he enjoys his Granny treating him special. Donna Jo will be 9 in June and that seems impossible, also.
Well as you can see there is not much going on in our life, but that is the way it goes when you reach retirement.

Well, it is now wintertime in Arkansas. The last two weeks have been really cold. I know it gets cold every winter, but this year seems to be worse, I guess that is because I am getting older. The older I get the colder I get. We did miss the ice storm this week. We had a little bit of ice on Monday night, but then came the rain, rain, rain, and no snow. We only had a few flakes of snow early in the morning. I really wanted some snow, but there is still time for that later.
My weight loss program(weight Watchers) is coming right along. As of last Thursday night, I have lost a total of 8 pounds. I hope this week I have lost at least two more to make a total of 10 pounds. I have not gotten hunry at all on this new Momentum diet. It is really a good plan. We will have to wait and see what tomorrow night brings.
Not much going on around here with Bobby and I. Bobby is taking a cold and that is not good. I am working on another quilt. This one is going to be large enough to go on the guest bed. I have have bitten off more than I can handle, but we will see.

Starting a New Year
Well, we have started off another year with me running behind. I just can;'t get enough energy to do anything. I made two lap quilts for Kristi and Angela and need to finish them or they will think I am never going to finish their Christmas present. I just can't get enough umph to finish them.
Last week Bobby and I went to New Orleans for a couple of days and then went over to Biloxi and Gulfport area for a couple of days and came home. The weather was perfect. The temperatures were in the high 60's and low 70's. We missed the ice storm at home by being gone. Now the weather is changing and getting cold again. The weather changes more in Arkansas than anywhere I know of. After we got back from the trip, I decided I needed to do something about my weight and have joined Weight Watcher's. Everybody pray for me that I can succeed at this. I need to loose weight and hopefully feel better. Well, this is about all that is going on in our house as of now.
